Welcome to Kumbali Game Reserve
A Sanctuary for Wildlife Conservation
At Kumbali Game Reserve, we are dedicated to the protection and preservation of Malawi’s unique flora and fauna. Located on the beautiful grounds of Kumbali, our reserve is home to a wide range of wildlife, offering a safe haven where animals can thrive in their natural habitats. This commitment to conservation is not only a priority for Kumbali Game Reserve but a vision we share with our partners at Conservation Research Africa, who conduct vital research and conservation initiatives from our campus.

Our Conservation Efforts
Kumbali Game Reserve proudly operates with a conservation-first approach, ensuring that all aspects of our ecosystem are managed to support biodiversity and the health of wildlife. Our reserve is fully licensed by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), reflecting our commitment to ethical and secure wildlife management. We are currently expanding our reserve's biodiversity by introducing new animals to enrich our ecosystem and build a sustainable environment.
Meet Our Wildlife
Our journey toward building a thriving wildlife sanctuary began with the introduction of two zebras on August 16, 2024, a male and a female who have already made themselves at home in our park. Since then, our collection of native and exotic species has grown, now featuring:
Duiker, Dik-dik, Klipspringer, Reedbuck, Sable Antelope, Blue Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Impala, Bushpig, Plains Zebra, Rock Hyrax, Genet, Civet, Slender Mongoose, Large Grey Mongoose, Water Mongoose, Spotted Hyena, African Wild Cat, Serval, Side Striped Jackal, Honey Badger, Southern Bushbaby, Greater Bushbaby, Vervet Monkey, Porcupine, Mole Rat, Cane Rat, Field Mouse, Elephant Shrew, Dormouse and Bats
